Cream walls
curl into ox-blood
and the fields beyond
are washed with sunlight
like women whose hands grow
red with cold labor
look more alive
and bright-eyed
than at any other time
cast in glow
for just a season
of matriculating color
imprisoned briefly
in scattering memory
like fragile white seeds of
dandelions catching against
the thirsty sun
Beautiful
Thank you so much D!
I might have said this before, but I like the llok of teh new images you are using. This one is gently soft – like your poem 🙂
Thank you! I am trying to be more positive though I’m sure I will write some maudlin given time! 😉
Always a balance 🙂
just browsing around your work, Candace, and the image caught my eye, and the words filled in the voids.
Joseph my friend♡ thank you. There’s poetry in your prose ♡
i am indeed influenced by the real poets, like you.
Okay that’s it you’ve made my week – thank you – coming from you this means everything to me
Joseph I don’t think I ever told you how much your appreciation of other poets does for us who follow in your footsteps but it does. Happy upcoming weekend my friend.
Raili, if I haven’t told you enough then let me remind you, that you are such a joy to behold in this life. There is no day goes by when I do not think of you in some way and how positive that is, or how you bring a smile to my face, and you are in my estimate one of those rarest of creatures, who actually brightens this world. Thank you simply my friend for being YOU and being my friend. I am very, very proud to have a friend like you.
I think you may have told me that in passing a couple of million times 🙂 I guess I may have mentioned in return what a delight it is to have bumped into you swirling around in that massive melting pot, the blogosphere. AND more importantly, we have stayed connected 🙂
And I hope we always shall as I would be poorer without you in my life.
Thanks, Candice. Your timing is very good. I’m going through one of those valleys of self doubt. Thanks for your kind words.
I ain’t goin’ nowhere! You planning to?
Dear Joseph, you are a bird, you soar over this world, you could never be tamed, never be earth-bound, this must at times be difficult, but the positives out-weigh the negatives, your gift is beyond the normal sphere, you are a writer, you will always be a writer, and ever since I began first reading you I knew this with absolute certainty. I can utterly relate to self-doubt, I think there is a picture of me in the dictionary under that word 😉 But please know this, if others follow you in their hearts and faith of you, that says more than your own approximation of reality, as we are all bound to the wheel of our emotions and sometimes outsiders see us more truthfully than we can see ourselves. Never, ever stop writing. That is all I can say, and I mean it with all of me. You are a writer.
Thank you so much for blessing me with your beautiful words. You are the best kind of friend and you are much appreciated. I extend my hand. Know that it is there when you need it.
We poets must stick together and moreover support one another, the climb can be hard, sometimes we run out of oxygen, or cannot see the steepe but sure-footed or no, if we walk together, we’ll get further xo
Depends on the tickets to Oz 😉
🙂
