This time will come again

yuri-shwedoff-wolf-pack-internetThe saw they used

had teeth like rabbits unaware

they were herbivores

her shell broke

like a blue egg

on turpentine floor

for the ants to summon

their legions and devour

she could smell her own fall

by the pinch of their envy

though why anyone should

be jealous she found absurd

as plates will chip

when placed on top of one another

we leave the best for last

scouring her hide with vinegar

all the holy and the ivy

thrown in pyre to await

her defeat

she tried to tell them

it’s not me you want

it’s yourselves

the competition is within

I am nothing

but a representation

the dreaming void

or lost moon

reflecting your own

do not bury me with nightshade

violet on my tongue

strangle my words

because you have none

this time will come again

as all circles are undone and reknotted

by fate and the scepter

in the wrists of those

cutting down

trees who only seek

that silence of being above

cacophony of rude arrows

felling our roots

though we strive

to master ourselves

  1. Just had to read this several times over…powerful imagery and use of metaphor. You are so freaking talented C….ps- I’m normally not this verbose, just to let you know. πŸ˜‰ ❀

  2. Brilliant! They that would strangle your words are indeed those who have none! Jealousy has man guises but none to treacherous as those that would attempt to dismiss your gift so as to hide selfish ineptitude. Love and hugs, N πŸ™‚ ❀

  3. Thank you so much my friend. When I began this blogging milarky, before I had published any books, I had a small group of loyal friends yourself included, that group shrunk even further, causing me to change blogs and begin over, and it has shown me, the people who stay in your life, they are truly miracles and make such a difference in your ability to keep going forward. For that and for you, I thank you so much more than mere words can give.

  4. Maybe it sounds disgusting to admit but what else can the reason be in some cases? If it is, then I agree, it’s just treacherous. If it isn’t then I think I know less than I even suspected I did, of human nature!

  5. My lovely friend, it is good to ‘see’ you here, I hope 2017 is treating you well so far. I must say ‘gaunt’ is a favorite word of mine, whilst negative in some ways, it’s one that seems to describe so perfectly an emotion as well as a physical state! Thank you dearly my friend

  6. Ah mais oui mon petite, ’tis the reason for as you said what other reason could there be. I’ve seen it too many times to not know what it looks like. And it is treacherous indeed. Unhappy people often hurt other people sadly! πŸ™‚ ❀

  7. You are so right. I have not met many happy people who hurt people – then again not demonizing all unhappy people because the vast majority do not hurt others, because they know how it feels but those who do, turn the knife that is in them, toward others, maybe in order to feel like they are not alone?
