The bird
who is not a bird
but has mosaic feathers
dipped in tar
this bird
who is neither oil nor waterproof
sinks
and then
licked by white fire
lent by God or fishermen
some happen-chance salvation of sorts
this bird
rises as phoenican ships will be
swallowed momentarily by
cresting waves the size of
mountains
bursts with light only matched
by a lifting of spirit into cloud
casting her netted permanance
against rush and churn
of life fighting with itself
this bird
who now possesses compass and ink
soars in oxygen and silence
this bird
who spent years
fearing how
instinctively breaks through
the barrier of herself
Beautiful. 😊
A poem of transcendence – and the hardest one of all, through and beyond one’s self… Just beautiful, Candice!
Gorgeous and powerful. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful. Seems I say that to you a lot. Truth to compliment a beautiful mind and soul.
amazing work i can’t wait to read more for you!

Ah, I’ve missed your words. Beautiful as ever, C.
And that beautiful bird has such lovely feathers!!! 🙂 ❤
an empowering thought, this just shows, no matter what living things will find a way to cope with the trials of life.
Magical
Is that wonderful painting yours too? (K)
Beauty, strength and fortitude. Love it! ❤
Breathtaking!
“This bird who now possesses compass and ink” resonates too much not to give me wings on this rainy cold summer day. Thanks, my friend. 🙂
(on a good day / shush / don’t tell anyone!) 😉
good lord I wish! (no – I must find the artist – gorgeous isn’t it?)
Thank you dear D
So true. I rarely ‘do’ empowering 😉 So I’m really glad when one pops out! 😉
Dearest Natalie, you know I rarely do ’empowering’ so when I do, I’m so happy! ha ha!
Is the novel going well lovely S? I hope so. I miss you also. But I’m glad if that’s what’s taking you away from us because it will be SO WORTH IT.
Thank you very, very much Mr Popular ! 😉 xo
Thank you so much! That’s a lovely thing to say.
Dearest Mortochx, I’m very grateful that you ever read my work and think so, very grateful, thank you!
Thank you so very much!
Dearest Betty, thank you so much. I rarely write uplifting work (such is my wont) and so when I do it invariably is more popular and appreciated even I confess, by myself! 😉 Thank you again xo
Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome. 😊
Yes, and your words are so perfect with it. I would love to know the artist as well.
Thank you dearest memad xo I will try to find it xo
and YOU are VERY appreciated my friend (and I’m lucky to be able to call you that)
I would send you my heat, we have far too much here! But please know you are warmed in my heart my friend.
Thanks, my dear. Likewise, I’m sure. 😊
Human nature I guess. But we need both kinds of poetry. Life isn’t all sweetness and light. (I wonder if we’d want it to be.) You’re a versatile poet, as you write of all sides of life with acute perception. Hard to do! 💓💕
Lol. Oh Candice, I rather be popular with you and you alone. Thank you for blessing us with your art
Manuel you are in my heart as my friend so you matter to me but you’re also beloved by others it’s testimony to your writing ♤
Good! I hope you do it more often then my beautiful amie, à plumes oiseau❣️😘😘😘
Yes! Your poem leaves me with this sense of action! Powerful imagery!
Thank you so much!
My pleasure – thank you!
I hope you have not stopped. The last post disturbed I that you sounded defeated.
My dear I have lived 60 years now and the one thing I have learned is that there are very definite times when you must say Fuck It and do for you and only you. I hope this reaches you for I want you to continue as you encourage me.
Sincerely.
Mortoch/Tim
