The disadvantage of girls
Turns good against itself
Savagery emerges
Staking futile claim, deadly taint
Holding emotions tightly
Then the careless boy disguards
A phallic knife wound
Oh God she hurts
Turns into bitterness.
When she has a daughter
She warns
Hate your sex
Poison relationships with same gender
Don’t trust other women
And in the bleeding wind
Truth is lost
And Adam laughs
At Eve’s curse
Love it
This one is intense, the photo too. A lot going on in that image, frightening just a bit. But, not these lines:
“She warns
Hate your sex
Poison relationships with same gender
Don’t trust other women
And in the bleeding wind
Truth is lost
And Adam laughs
At Eve’s curse”
I think you wrapped it up perfectly. It’s depth is felt completely.
Really dark and raw!
Each word of this is perfect.
Your words are internally intense and potent, as if from the very sinews of the female thoughts.
Look at Eve who came from Adam, nature tells us she is more evolved. Only our thinking turns that around. Every man owes his life to his mother’s womb, and breast. Philosophy – Love of Sophia …
Totally agree
Who was it declared Lilith a demon, though created Adam’s equal?
Who was it laid a curse on Eve?
It was preachers and scribes, all (apparently) male.
Who, then set woman against woman?
Yes, Adam laughed, thinking his loss a gain, his defeat a victory.

The power and intensity of this work takes away my breath. So, so well done!
This is powerful Candice! Why do women fight against each other? It’s something I’ve alwas wondered!
My,my the raw truth
Well written candy
This is so so good. Love the language.
We really need to get over all this c*%@ and treat each other with respect and dignity…
Very nicely written
…deep and kind of spooky like there’s something inorganic in the species’ gene pool, why do I feel like I’m being followed now…. Adam laughing???
Thank you, Candice. You set me free.
I am working on a poetry book and I am in need of advice about cover art etc. Would you mind talking sometime if you are well enough?
“and in the bleeding wind, truth is lost” love that line

Grrrr….this is so true, no? So sad for our girls, but hopefully it is changing. I raised 3 girls and I hope they felt differently. xoxo I love that you can put it to words and it shows that women are power.
Excellent!
Dear Anna thank you so much!
